The Resource Recovery And Circular Economy Act

With the enactment of the RRCEA, the Province of Ontario has fundamentally changed the legislation that governs tire recycling.

Under the new legislation, obligated companies will be accountable for ensuring that their share of used tires are recovered and recycled according to standards set by the government. Failure to comply may result in significant fines.

A new regulatory agency called the Resource Productivity and Recovery Authority has also been established to enforce the new legislation.

Fortunately, companies obligated under the legislation are free to engage a third party, like eTracks, to manage their compliance obligations on their behalf.
